For over forty years we've been striving to breed Angus cattle that will meet the needs of the commercial cattleman. Registered Angus cattle have been a part of our family all our lives. Currently, the Benchmark Angus purebred breeding herd numbers 300 black cows and 120 red cows. We are in the cattle business for the long haul!

When the time comes to cull each year, we try to take advantage of every tool available to help us select and maintain the cattle that will get the job done for our customers. Eye appeal is important. Our cows are managed the same way that any good commercial outfit runs their cows. The calves are not creep fed but are run on good shortgrass in large southern Alberta pastures. The cows must calve easily, milk well, breed back and be easy to handle. Accomodating our customers needs is our top priority, and we are willing to go the extra mile with our program to breed the right kind of cattle for them.

Each spring Benchmark Farms offers hard working Black and Red Angus bulls for sale. No bulls are sold prior to the sale, so you can be assured that our bull sale offering has not been picked over and only the bulls that are good enough will be at the sale.

Each fall we also select and offer a couple of our top heifer calf replacements at the Chinook Classic Angus Sale in Lethbridge, Alberta.
